Our Equipment

Although very basic. This equipment has served us well over the years.

Our trusty 5 gallon carboy. We have a few different sizes depending on what we are brewing. 3 gallon sizes for mead, and 6 gallon for wine.
The bottling bucket. We transfer the beer from the carboy to the bucket and then add flavors if needed. Then on to the bottles or keg.
Thermometers. Useful if doing a mash.

A hydrometer will let you know the specific gravity of your beer. Useful in determining the alcohol content.
Fermentation lock, or airlock. This prevents bad bacteria from entering the carboy while allowing the c02 produced to escape.

The boiling kettle. We place this on a propane burner outside for the boiling process.

The propane burner.

The counterflow wort chiller. The wort travels through the copper tubing into the carboy, while being cooled with a garden hose water connection. (yes, home made)

Cornelius keg, also called corny keg. It will hold and dispense 5 gallons of your homebrew.

c02 tank. This is what pushes the beer out of the corny keg into your pint glass.

Brew paddle. Comes in handy when making a mash recipe, or just for stirring the ingredients in the boiler.

Bottle capper. This crimps the bottle caps onto your beer bottles. We originally started using the Grolsh style bottles with the ceramic tops and spring loaded top but decided to switch to regular bottles.
